A reliable partner since 1997

Already in the end of 1996 TEXET GmbH was founded, a subsidiary of the Swedish company TEXET AB, based in Stockholm. Starting from Hamburg in January 1997, the company was set up to expand James Harvest Sportswear and Printer Active Wear into the German market for Promotional Textiles and Corporate Fashion. Turning 1998, distribution for Harvest and Printer in Germany and other European countries was licensed to Swedish Match Advertising Products GmbH (SMAP), based in Visselhövede.

SMAP already operated in the market for Advertising Products with non-textile products and was striving for a diversification with textiles. The European distribution platform, with Germany being the biggest market, offered tremendous opportunities for the Expansion of James Harvest Sportswear and Printer Active Wear. In one go, a distribution network for Harvest and Printer in seven countries came into existence. Warehousing and logistics were centrally organized in the German subsidiary. Beginning of 1999, also the German sales organization moved from Hamburg to Visselhövede, to achieve stronger synergies and set up distribution in Austria from Vienna.

End 2001, the stock keeping in Visselhövede was merged with the warehouse of the former Belgian agent, Hertex N.V., which had previously been acquired by Swedish Match. For that purpose, a modern European Distribution Center (EDC) nearby Brussels was built. With more than 15.000m² and more than 12.000 pallet slots, the EDC was suitable to serve even the biggest orders in short time and flexible manner, finally overcoming the limits of the stock keeping in Visselhövede.

In November 2003 finally, the distribution rights went back to the brand owner and the distribution network of SMAP was incorporated into New Wave Group, the new owner of TEXET AB and its’ brands since 2000. As a consequence, the sleeping company TEXET GmbH was revitalized, to continue with the distribution of Harvest and Printer. Due to the by then grown structure, Visselhövede remained the operational base for distribution in Germany and Austria, and Hungary as of 2005.

The development of TEXET GmbH after the acquisition of New Wave Group showed a dynamic growth. This, last but not least, had been a result of the global sourcing and the economies of scale in buying. After 2004, the brand portfolio was further increased and TEXET GmbH not only established itself as one of the most powerful suppliers of Promotional Textiles and Corporate Fashion, but also started to expand in the markets for Workwear, Advertising Products and in Retail.

The first new brand that joined TEXET GmbH in 2005 was ProJob Swedish Workwear, one of the fastest growing brands in the group and the perfect extension of the existing brands to conquer the Workwear market. One year after Sagaform followed – Swedish Design gifts that opened the door to the market for non-textile Advertising Products. At the same time, TEXET GmbH was given the opportunity to establish mouth blown art glass of Orrefors & Kosta Boda – two brands of worldwide reputation – in the market for Advertising Products. In 2009 TEXET GmbH also incorporated the Retail sales of those three brands in Germany and Austria and joined them in one department.

Another milestone in the development of TEXET GmbH had been the merger with its sister company Dressmart GmbH, in November 2008. Dressmart GmbH contributed with the strong brands D.A.D Sportswear, Grizzly Active Profile Outfit, Goal and Cottover to the merger and enabled TEXET GmbH to further strengthen its position in the market.

The latest step towards a multi-brand-distribution company was the acquisition of the rights for Mac One & Jingham as of January 2010 - two brands that round up the portfolio of TEXET GmbH in the lower price segment of the market.
